In the event of a Wi-Fi outage or power failure, Nest Cam can store up to one hour of recorded events for later viewing [4]. Its battery-operated design allows for flexible placement both indoors and outdoors, with a magnetic mount for easy installation.

For continuous, 24/7 video recording with Nest Aware Plus, users can add a weather-resistant power cable or an indoor support with power cable (both sold separately). The camera also supports hands-free video streaming on compatible smart screens with Google Assistant, as well as Alexa-compatible smart screens, smart TVs, and tablets.

Operating Nest Cam requires the Google Home application and a free Google account; it is not compatible with the Nest application or website. Users can set up activity zones to receive phone notifications for specific areas of their home and receive alerts when recognized faces arrive [1,5].
